CHESTNUT HILL'S KIDD PLAYS IN SUMMER LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME

Philadelphia, PA – (7/27/2010) – Chestnut Hill College junior infielder Peter Kidd (New York, N.Y.) recently represented the Ulster Angels of the Collegiate Baseball League (CBL) in an all-star exhibition against the New York State League (NYSL). Kidd was selected as the starting shortstop for the CBL by the league’s eight head coaches, after helping the Ulster Angles to an 11-16 record this summer.

Kidd was 1-for-2 with a single in an 8-5 loss to the NYSL All-Stars. The game was held at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York, on Tuesday, July 22. Kidd has carried a .409 (18-for-44) batting average and posted a .523 slugging percentage this summer, while stealing ten bases. He is a two-year participant in the CBL, competing as a member of the Dutchess Dutchmen in 2009. Founded in 1996, the CBL is a “wood bat”, summer baseball league for collegiate and high school athletes in the Hudson Valley of New York.

Kidd started 22 games in 2010 for the Griffins. He finished his sophomore campaign with a .314 (22-for-70) batting average, a .429 slugging percentage, nine runs-batted-in (RBI), and six stolen bases.
