CALDWELL'S PFEIL AND DOMINICAN'S PIASECKI GARNER ECAC WEEKLY AWARDS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Caldwell College pitcher Stephen Pfeil and Dominican College shortstop Cara Piasecki both garnered weekly awards from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on Wednesday evening. Pfeil was named the Division II Baseball Pitcher of the Week and Piasecki was tabbed Division II Softball Player of the Week.

Pfeil, a 6-2 right-hander from Hampstead, NH, earned two complete game victories last week against Nyack and Post. He allowed only eight total hits and one earned run while fanning 19 batters in 14.0 innings of work. He threw a 7-inning, one-hitter at Nyack with 11 strikeouts.

Piasecki, a sophomore shortstop from Port Monmouth, NJ, belted four home runs in four games to go with a .643 batting average, seven RBI, eight runs scored, one double and one stolen base last week. She hit two solo homers in game two of a double-header against St. Thomas Aquinas. She also hit home runs in both ends of a double-header sweep against Goldey-Beacom.
