NEW HAVEN, CT - Vinnie DiBenedetti of Felician College has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Week for the second straight week. He went 2-for-4 with one run and two RBI in a win over Wilmington on Sunday, which clinched a tournament spot for the Golden Falcons.
Mondesir, a 6-3 senior right-hander from Jamaica, NY, threw a 7.0-inning two-hitter against USP. He struck out four batters. Pfeil, a 6-1 junior right-hander, fanned 10 batters and allowed only four hits in a 9.0-inning shutout victory over Bloomfield.
Etherton, a 6-2 freshman outfielder from Princeton, NJ, hit .467 with three RBI, one run scored and three stolen bases in four games last week. He concluded the week with a 3-for-3 performance with an RBI, one double and one stolen base at Post.

CACC Notes
Caldwell - The Cougars clinched a spot in this week's CACC Tournament with a three-game sweep of Bloomfield on Friday and Saturday. Junior Stephen Pfeil gave up four hits while fanning 10 in a 2-0 shutout on Friday. In the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, sophomore Robert Casal tossed a two-hitter to lead the Cougars to a 9-0 victory. Caldwell's 29 wins this season is the most in the 13-year history of the program, topping the 28-win season of the 2004 squad that won the CACC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Northeast Regional for the first time.
Felician - Felician reaches the CACC Tournament for the third consecutive season and the seventh time in the nine-year history of the program. The Golden Falcons are 4-1 in extra innings and 9-5 in one-run games in 2008. On Apr. 26 (G2), Apr. 30 and May 1, Felician won three consecutive games by one run for the first time in team history. The team has eight pitchers with at least two victories, including five with at least three. In his win over Dominican on Thursday, senior P Nick Riker broke teammate Scott VanEs's school record for strikeouts in a season, currently with 64. VanEs had 60 last year. On Sunday, while earning the win in relief as his team clinched a playoff berth by defeating Wilmington, VanEs became the first Felician pitcher to ever record 200 career strikeouts (currently 203). Prior to Saturday's home doubleheader against the Wildcats, the Golden Falcons retired the number of four-time All-CACC selection Mike Rooth (2003-06), their all-time leading hitter. Rooth's No. 3 is the first number retired by Felician in any sport. Junior CF Vinnie DiBenedetti is hitting .559 with six triples and 12 RBI during his current 10-game hitting streak. Sophomore C Marcos Torres is batting .511 with 15 RBI in his last 11 games.
Philadelphia - Winners of nine of their past ten games, the Rams moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season. Head Coach Mark Heineman's team opened the year with seven consecutive losses but the Rams have gone 19-8 since beginning the season with a 1-11 record.
USP - Michael Curry became just the 10th baseball player in school history to record 100 career hits, reaching the mark in his final game vs. Dominican to finish his career with 101. His 61 hits this season are a new single season record. Curry started and played in 44 of the Devils 45 games and reached base in all but two during the season. USP's 45 games played are the most ever in a single season. USP's 11 wins are a six-win improvement over last year's total.
