RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Three Felician College pitchers have been signed by NCAA-sanctioned wood-bat collegiate baseball leagues for the summer.

Rising senior Scott VanEs (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) is a member of the Bennington Bombers (http://www.hometeamsonline.com/visit/?u=benningtonbombers&sport=baseball&t=c) of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. The right-hander, a 2006 all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference selection, is the first Felician player ever to be signed by an NYCBL team. Senior-to-be Nick Riker (Highlands, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) and rising junior William "B.J." Senna (Wallingford, CT/Sheehan) will be teammates on the New York Generals (http://www.acbl-online.com/teamdetails1.asp?id=7&season=2007) of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.

The NYCBL (www.nycbl.com) and ACBL (www.abcl-online.com) are partially funded by Major League Baseball. All players in each league must have college eligibility remaining, and must be recommended by their college coach and/or a professional scout.

"It's an honor for those guys to be selected," said Felician head coach Chris Langan. "It means they've been identified as pro prospects and are guaranteed some exposure to major league scouts. It also shows the growth in our program and that we've been working hard to get to the next level."

The Golden Falcons had a 23-26 won-lost record in 2007, finishing tied for second in the NCAA Division II Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a 10-6 league mark. VanEs (1-8, 7.06 ERA, 1 SV, 60 SO), Riker (4-2, 5.84, 29 SO), and Senna (5-1, 7.41, 48 SO) were all members of the starting rotation.
