NEW HAVEN, CT - Jason Rust of Wilmington College has earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, March 25. Brendan Wyman of Post University has been selected Pitcher of the Week and Adric Saxon of Caldwell College has been tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Rust, a 6-0 senior outfielder from Greenwood, DE, hit four home runs, drove in 11 runs and scored six times in a 5-1 week for the Wildcats. He blasted three home runs in a 13-9 win over Millersville and had six RBI in the game. Furthermore, he hit two doubles and drove in three runs in a 5-4 win over Bloomsburg. Rust has earned CACC Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Wyman, a 6-0 sophomore left-handed pitcher from Manchester, CT, took a no-hitter into the ninth inning against Philadelphia Saturday. He went 8.1 innings, allowed one hit and one run while fanning three in the 7-3 victory.

Saxon, a 6-1 freshman outfielder from Coral Gables, FL, hit .286 in a 2-3 week with one home run, four doubles, nine RBI and four runs scored last week. He went 2-for-5 with two runs, four RBI and two doubles in a 14-7 win over Carson Newman.

Honorable Mention

Jimmy Okoniewski, Wilmington - Went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA last week. Picked up a win over Bloomsburg by allowing five hits in 5.2 innings, along with three strikeouts.

Chris Gelalich, Post - Hit .571 for the week with two home runs, eight RBI, four runs scored and four doubles.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars began the week ranked 10th in the Northeast Region by the NCBWA regional poll released March 19. Caldwell played six games on the team's trip to Tennessee, going 3-3 in games against 29th-ranked Tusculum College, Carson Newman College and Lincoln Memorial University.

Felician- Felician has had six games postponed or canceled by the aftereffects of the March 16 winter storm. Today's conference lid-lifter against Dominican, field-condition permitting, will be the Golden Falcons' third attempt at a home opener and just their second game since March 11.

Post - Post opened the CACC portion of its schedule by sweeping a doubleheader at Philadelphia. Senior catcher Chris Gelalich has a monster week at the plate, as he led the team with a .571 batting average going 8-for-14 with two homeruns, four doubles and eight runs batted in. He crossed the plate four times, and recorded a gaudy 1.286 slugging percentage and a .600 on base percentage. Another Eagle to produce flashy numbers was sophomore Brendan Wyman, who took a no-hitter into the ninth inning in the first game of the Philadelphia twinbill to pick up his third win of the season.
