CALDWELL AND DOMINICAN RANKED IN INITIAL NCBWA NORTHEAST REGION BASEBALL POLL

NEW HAVEN, CT ? Caldwell College and Dominican College are both ranked in the initial National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Northeast Region Poll, which was released Monday afternoon. Caldwell is fourth and Dominican is 10th. Wilmington College and Philadelphia University both received votes in the poll.

Caldwell went 4-0 in its first week of action after winning region games over Molloy College, the region's ninth-ranked team, and Dowling College, which received votes in the poll. The Cougars received 38 points in the poll, which is topped by Franklin Pierce College (60 points). The poll is voted upon by Sports Information Directors in the region.

Dominican garnered 12 points in the poll and is 3-5 thus far in 2007. The Chargers won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular-season and tournament championships last year.

Wilmington is off to a 4-3 start, while Philadelphia is 2-2, including a split with Franklin Pierce to open the season.
