NEW HAVEN, CT - Jason Rust of Wilmington College has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Week after blasting six home runs last week. Bloomfield College lefty Joseph O'Donnell has earned Pitcher of the Week accolades after hurling a no-hitter and Raymond Keelan of Caldwell College was the choice for Rookie of the Week.

Rust, a senior outfielder from Greenwood, DE, hit .524 in five games with six home runs, including four in a victory over USP. He collected 10 RBI's against the Devils and drove in 17 for the week while scoring 10 times. He went 5-for-5 against USP and added a 2-for-4 effort with a home run and four RBI against West Chester.

O'Donnell, a senior left-hander from Middlesex, NJ, recorded Bloomfield's first-ever no-hitter in game two at Post University Saturday afternoon. He fanned seven in the game, walked five and allowed one unearned run on a passed ball. Post had pounded out 20 hits in the first game of the double-header with the Deacons.

Keelan, a freshman from Barnegat, NJ, hit .643 last week in four games, including the game-winning RBI in an 8-7 win over Nyack Tuesday. He homered in wins over Dominican and USP and collected six RBI and scored six times for the week.

Honorable Mention

Frank Quintana, Felician - Hit three home runs on the week to go with a .444 batting average. Drove in seven runs, scored five runs and stole two bases.

Kevin Lauranzon, Bloomfield - Hit .444 for the week with two home runs, seven RBI and five runs scored, along with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars returned to the NCBWA Northeast Region Poll last week, ranking 10th. The Cougars hit 11 home runs in a doubleheader sweep of USP on Apr. 13, including eight homers in Game 2. Through Apr. 8, freshman Adric Saxon led the nation in runs batted in per game (1.71) and was ranked ninth in doubles per game (0.53), 19th in runs per game (1.35) and 54th in slugging percentage (.707). Fellow frosh Omar Velazquez ranked ninth in runs per game (1.41). Saxon, who hit three home runs against USP on Apr. 13, currently has 35 RBIs in 21 games (1.67 RBI/game). Freshman Raymond Keelan drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth with a one-out single to defeat Nyack, 8-7 on Apr. 10. Keelan was 9 for 14 (.643) with two home runs and two doubles last week.

Felician - Twenty-five of senior 1B Frank Quintana's 53 hits this season have gone for extra bases (15-1-9). He is hitting .405 and slugging .740. Quintana has 28 career homeruns despite hitting none as a freshman. He is attempting to become the first player in the eight-year history of the program to lead Felician in both homers and stolen bases in the same season. William Senna became the Golden Falcons' first four-game winner this season with Saturday's victory over Philadelphia.

USP - Michael DeVincenzo's home run in the first game against Caldwell was the 100th hit of hit career, becoming just the ninth baseball player in school history to reach 100 career hits. Justin DeVincenzo moved into fifth place on the Devils all-time hit list with his third hit in the first game against Caldwell. He now has 121 for his career and needs four more hits to move into third place. With doubles in the doubleheader against Caldwell both Michael and Justin DeVincenzo move up the ladder on the Devils all-time doubles list; Michael now has 25 to rank 5th all time and Justin now has 23 to rank 7th all time.
