March 13 Player of the Week: Mike Rooth, Felician: Hit .541 for the week with two home runs, six doubles and nine runs batted in. Smacked a home run to tie the score against Clarion and the Golden Falcons went on to score six more runs in a 15-10 victory. Pitcher of the Week: Tommy Mejia, Dominican: Posted two wins last week with a 1.20 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 15.0 innings of work. He hurled a complete game against St. Thomas Aquinas and allowed only three hits and one earned run. Rookie of the Week: Jorge Torres, Caldwell: Hit .286 in his first collegiate week of action. Smacked one double and stole one base. Went 2-for-4 with a double against Southern Connecticut State. March 20 Player of the Week: Dan Cleary, Wilmington: Hit .462 (12-26) in a 6-2 week with six runs, five RBI, three doubles and three stolen bases. Collected three hits in two games and had two hits in two other contests. Went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI against Florida Memorial. Pitcher of the Week: Tommy Mejia, Dominican: Struck out 10 batters in a complete game victory over C.W. Post. Allowed eight hits and one run over 9.0 innings of work. Rookie of the Week: Craig Binkiewicz, NJIT: Hit .692 (9-of-13) for the week with five runs scored, two RBI, five stolen bases and a .750 on-base percentage. Went 3-for-4 with a run against St. Thomas Aquinas and collected two hits against both East Stroudsburg and Wayne State. March 27 Player of the Week: Tom Keegan, Dominican: Hit .667 (10-for-18) for the week in six games. Had a .944 slugging percentage, scored 10 runs, drove in five, stole seven bases and notched three doubles and one triple. He went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles and one RBI in a 9-3 win over Adelphi. Pitcher of the Week: Joe Matterer, Wilmington: Hurled 7.0 innings in a win over NJIT and allowed only two hits and no earned runs, while fanning seven. Did not walk a batter in his only appearance of the week. Rookie of the Week: Jose Made, Dominican: Hit .516 (16-31) with a team-high 16 hits in a 7-1 week. Had at least two hits in six of the seven games, including two, three-hit games. He scored 13 runs for the week, drove in five and collected four doubles and two triples. April 3 Co-Players of the Week: Gilbert Gonzalez, Felician and Webster Zachery, Bloomfield: Gonzalez hit .526 (10-for-19) and collected a hit in each of his final seven at-bats of the week. Scored seven runs, drove in six and recorded two home runs and four stolen bases. Finished the week with back-to-back 3-for-3 performances in a double-header against Post. He blasted two home runs, scored three times and drove in three in the opening game, then scored twice and drove in two in the nightcap. Zachery hit .518 with 10 RBI, seven runs, two triples and four doubles last week. Collected a hit in every game and notched at least two hits in five of his seven outings. Sported a .777 slugging percentage and a .518 on-base percentage. Pitcher of the Week: Jason Mulero, Nyack: Threw a 9-inning complete game in a 7-0 victory against USP in his only action of the week. Fanned nine batters, walked one and allowed only five hits. Rookie of the Week: Jose Made, Dominican: Hit .500 (10-for-20) with an .800 slugging percentage in a 4-1 week. Scored seven runs, drove in three, and collected three triples. Went 5-for-5 with four runs scored in a 15-5 win over NJIT. April 10 Player of the Week: Keith Heck, Philadelphia: Went 6-for-6 and hit for the cycle in a 15-13 loss to Kutztown on Tuesday. Drove in seven runs in the game and scored three times. Hit .538 for the week with eight RBI, four runs scored and sported a 1.000 slugging percentage. Pitcher of the Week: Chris Legiadre, NJIT: Had a hand in both of NJIT's victories last week. Earned a win against Felician after going 7.0 innings and allowing one run, three hits and fanning four. In a relief appearance against Nyack, he allowed just one hit in 2.1 innings of work. For the week, he hurled 9.1 total innings and allowed only four hits, one run (0.96 ERA) and no walks to go with seven strikeouts. Rookie of the Week: Jorge Torres, Caldwell: Hit .375 for the week with two, two-hit games. Scored four runs, drove in one, stole two bases and smacked one double. Recorded a .545 on-base percentage for the week. April 17 Co-Players of the Week: Jeff Potter, NJIT and Chad Duesler, Dominican: Potter hit .529 (9-for-17) with six runs scored, four RBI and a home run in a 5-0 week. Went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI after hitting a double and a triple against Post and he went 2-for-4 with a run, two RBI and a home run against the Eagles earlier in the week. Duesler hit .625 (10-for-16) with five RBI, three runs scored and one home run in a 5-1 week. Went 3-for-4 with two runs, three RBI and a triple against Nyack and belted a home run in a 3-for-3 effort against Post. Pitcher of the Week: Tommy Murphy, Caldwell: Hurled a complete-game two-hitter in the first game of a double-header against Nyack on Wednesday. Fanned a career-best 13 batters in the 9-0 victory and surrendered only two walks. Rookie of the Week: Craig Binkiewicz, NJIT: Hit .579 (11-for-19) for the week with six runs scored, six RBI and five stolen bases. He sported a .609 on-base percentage. He went 3-for-4 with three runs, an RBI and three stolen bases against Post and collected multiple hits in three other games. April 24 Player of the Week: Webster Zackery, Bloomfield: Hit .500 (8-for-16) for the week with eight RBI, six runs scored, a home run and five stolen bases. Went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, a home run and three runs scored in a victory over Philadelphia. Also crossed the plate three times while going 2-for-3 against Felician. Pitcher of the Week: Bernardo Aviles, Bloomfield: Picked up a win and a save last week. Went the distance against Felician and allowed two hits and struck out five without allowing one run. In addition, he saved a game against Philadelphia. Rookie of the Week: Stephen Pfeil, Caldwell: Had a hand in all three of Caldwell's wins last week. He went 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in four appearances (3 relief), including a complete-game victory against Post. In 10.2 total innings for the week, he allowed 12 hits and two runs along with eight strikeouts. May 1 Co-Players of the Week: Matt Dimania, Post and Derek Pugh, Wilmington: Dimania hit .542 for the week and hit for the cycle against USP. Drove in 12 runs, hit two home runs and scored four times in seven games. Pugh hit .500 (13-for-26) for the week with four home runs, 12 RBI and eight runs scored. Blasted two home runs and drove in four runs against Millersville and collected three hits, three RBI and scored three runs against Caldwell. Pitcher of the Week: Mike Mundy, Wilmington: Went 1-0 in two appearances during the week. Did not allow a single earned run in 11.0 innings of work and struck out 14 batters while giving up only seven hits. In a complete game against Caldwell, he allowed five hits and fanned 11. Rookie of the Week: Stephen Pfeil, Caldwell: Picked up two wins for the week. In 12.2 innings of work, he allowed 12 hits, two runs (1.42 ERA) and fanned 12, along with two walks. He hurled a complete game against league-leader Dominican and allowed one run while fanning nine. May 8 Player of the Week: Robert Forbes, NJIT: Hit .667 in two games last week with one home run, three runs scored and two RBI. He went 2-for-3 with a solo home run against USP and went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI against Concordia. Pitcher of the Week: Tommy Mejia, Dominican: Earned a victory against Wilmington on Saturday to clinch the CACC regular-season championship for Dominican. Worked 5.2 innings and allowed five hits and one run while fanning three. Rookie of the Week: Jose Made, Dominican: Hit .333 with four RBI, three runs scored, a triple and a stolen base in three games last week. He went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and three RBI against Concordia. May 15 Player and Rookie of the Week: Jose Made, Dominican: The freshman shortstop was named MVP of the CACC Tournament after driving in 10 runs and batting .450 (9-for-20) in five games. He scored six runs and collected two triples and one stolen base. He knocked in at least one RBI in all five contests and had multiple hits in three games. Pitcher of the Week: Matt Dilgen, Dominican: Held Wilmington to one run in a 2-1, elimination-game victory at the CACC Tournament. He hurled a complete game and allowed seven hits while fanning 12 and walking two batters. For his efforts, Dilgen was named to the All-Tournament team. |
