GONZALEZ, ZACHERY, MULERO AND MADE EARN BASEBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Gilbert Gonzalez of Felician College and Webster Zachery of Bloomfield College have been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Co-Players of the Week. Jason Mulero of Nyack College has been selected as the Pitcher of the Week and Jose Made of Dominican College is the Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Gonzalez, a freshman infielder from Miami, FL, hit .526 (10-for-19) and collected a hit in each of his final seven at-bats of the week. He scored seven runs, drove in six and recorded two home runs and four stolen bases. He finished the week with back-to-back 3-for-3 performances in a double-header against Post. He blasted two home runs, scored three times and drove in three in the opening game, then scored twice and drove in two more runs in the nightcap.

Zachery hit .518 with 10 RBI, seven runs, two triples and four doubles for the Deacons last week. Zachery, who hails from Hamden, CT, had a hit in every game and notched at least two hits in five of his seven outings. The senior outfielder sported a .777 slugging percentage and a .518 on-base percentage.

Mulero, a junior from the Bronx, NY, threw a 9-inning complete game in a 7-0 victory against USP in his only action of the week. He fanned nine batters, walked one and allowed only five hits.


Made, a Binghamton, NY native, was named Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. He hit .500 (10-for-20) with an .800 slugging percentage in a 4-1 week for the Chargers. He scored seven runs, drove in three, and collected three triples. Furthermore, he went 5-for-5 with four runs scored in a 15-5 win over NJIT.
