ZACKERY, AVILES AND PFEIL EARN BASEBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Senior DH Webster Zackery of Bloomfield College has earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, April 23. Bernardo Aviles, also of Bloomfield, is the Pitcher of the Week and Caldwell pitcher Stephen Pfeil has been given Rookie of the Week honors.

Zackery, who hails from Hamden, CT, hit .500 (8-for-16) for the week with eight RBI, six runs scored, a home run and five stolen bases. He went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, a home run and three runs scored in a victory over Philadelphia. Furthermore, he also crossed the plate three times while going 2-for-3 against Felician. Zackery has been named CACC Player of the Week twice this season.

Aviles, a senior righty from Clifton, NJ, picked up a win and a save last week. He went the distance against Felician and allowed two hits and struck out five without allowing a run. In addition, he saved a game against Philadelphia.

Pfeil, a freshman right-hander from Hampstead, NH, had a hand in all three of Caldwell's wins last week. He went 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA in four appearances (3 relief), including a complete-game victory against Post. In 10.2 total innings for the week, he allowed 12 hits and two runs along with eight strikeouts.
