HECK, LEGIADRE AND TORRES EARN CACC BASEBALL WEEKLY ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Keith Heck of Philadelphia University has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 9. Chris Legiadre of NJIT is the Pitcher of the Week and Jorge Torres of Caldwell has been picked as the Rookie of the Week.

Heck, who hails from Cherry Hill, NJ, went 6-for-6 and hit for the cycle in a 15-13 loss to Kutztown on Tuesday. The junior 1B drove in seven runs in the game and scored three times. He hit .538 for the week with eight RBI and four runs scored. Furthermore, he sported a 1.000 slugging percentage for the week.

Legiadre, who is from Manalapan, NJ, had a hand in both of NJIT's victories last week. The senior earned a win against Felician after going 7.0 innings and allowing one run, three hits and fanning four. In a relief appearance against Nyack, he allowed just one hit in 2.1 innings of work. For the week, he hurled 9.1 total innings and allowed only four hits, one run (0.96 ERA) and no walks to go with seven strikeouts.

Torres, a freshman outfielder from Coral Springs, FL, hit .375 for the week with two, two-hit games. He scored four runs, drove in one, stole two bases and smacked one double. He recorded a .545 on-base percentage for the week.
