Dominican Wins over New Jersey Institute of Technology, 3-0

Blauvelt, NY -- Dominican College improved to 15-6 in the CACC with a big win over league-leading New Jersey Institute of Technology (17-5), 3-0 this afternoon in Orangeburg.

The Chargers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first, as Mike Zani (Goshen, NY) singled to start the game, moved to second on a ground out, stole third and scored on a throwing error by the catcher. Dominican added another run in the third as Zani would get a one out walk and score on the RBI single by Eliezer Nunez (Brooklyn, NY) for the 2-0 lead.

In the sixth, Keith Gebert (Brooklyn, NY) walked to lead off the inning, stole second, went to third on a throwing error and scored on a wild pitch to extend the Charger lead to 3-0.

Charger starter Dan Bucci (Dobbs Ferry, NY) pitched a complete game in the win. Highlander starter Robert Forbes (West Caldwell, NJ) suffered the loss.

Dominican improves to 21-17 overall and 15-6 in the CACC, while NJIT falls to 19-15 overall and 17-5 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action tomorrow as they travel to New Jersey Institute of Technology for a CACC double-header, starting at 11am.
