Nyack, NY-The Post University baseball team exploded for 13 runs and 16 hits in a 13-2 dismantling of the Warriors from Nyack College.

Jeff Hancock (Montville, CT) struck out eight while walking only one. He scattered seven hits over seven innings and allowed just two runs (one earned). Nick Mangini (Carmel, NY) pitched the final two frames in shutout fashion to seal the deal. The key to the pitching for the Eagles was the pitchers didn?t put any free runners on base. The duo combined for one walk and one hit batsmen. The Post offense received seven walks and one hit batter.

Jordan Klein (Commack, NY) had three hits, five RBI, and scored two runs. When the score was 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh (Post was the home team) Klein belted a base-loaded triple to give the Eagles a cushion. Ryan De Polo (Milford, CT) had two-hits and scored two runs. Mike Padovani (Wolcott, CT) contributed two hits and two RBI. Matt Mehlhouse (Stratford, CT) added two hits, a stolen base and a run scored. Chris Ouellette (Uncasville, CT) had a hit in his only plate appearance. He scored two runs and had an RBI.

?Jeff had unquestionable his best outing of the year,? said Don Schaffer Interim Head Baseball Coach. ?We came through with big hits when we needed them.

Jimmy Coleman (Marston Mills, MA) is fourth in the NCAA in triples a game. His .20 triples a contest leads the CACC.

The Eagles will conclude the home season Friday at 3:30 pm versus Bloomfield College for Senior Day. Ryan Martin, Coleman, and Geoff Stafford will be honored with a ceremony prior to the game.
