Blauvelt, NY -- Dominican College improved their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference record to 14-6 with two impressive victories over Bloomfield College, 2-1 and 4-1.

In the first game, Bloomfield went up 1-0 on an RBI ground out by Webster Zachery in the first inning. The Chargers fought back with an RBI single by Joe Kubanik

(Stony Point, NY) in the third and followed in the fourth with another RBI single by Frank Maynard (Brooklyn, NY) to take the lead, 2-1. Kubanik went 1-3 in the first game and Maynard went 1-1 with a walk and a run scored.

Charger pitcher Joe Catanese (Huntington, NY) received the win, while Deacon pitcher Bernado Aviles suffered the loss. Fellow Deacon Lino Mariot went 2-4.

In the night cap, Dominican jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth, behind the 2 RBI single by Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY). Designated hitter Chad Duesler (Northville, NY) followed two batters later with a RBI sacrifice fly to right field, scoring CACC Player of the Week Eliezer Nunez (Brooklyn, NY) who was intentionally walked earlier in the inning. The Chargers added a run in the fifth as Kubanik hit another sac fly to center, scoring Mike Zani (Goshen, NY) who got on with a single.

The Deacons fought back with a run in the top of the seventh, as the leadoff hitter got on because of an error and later scored on a ground out.

Charger pitcher Todd Spinder (Chesapeake, VA) got the victory.
