PACE HANDS BASEBALL 15-0 DEFEAT

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Three Pace University pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout in the Setters' 15-0 non-conference baseball victory over host NJIT on Tuesday afternoon.

Pace (22-13) opened the scoring on Matt Arburr's two-run homerun with none-out in the second inning off of NJIT starter Dennis Keefe (2-2). After the Setters scored three unearned runs in the third, Pace blew the game open on Ted Mullen's three-run homer off the left field foul screen in the fifth.

Setter starter David Qualben (5-3) allowed two hits, struck out six and walked one in seven scoreless innings. Dan Morogiello (double), Jon Palumbo and Phil Resciniti had the NJIT base hits. Matt Castellano was 3 for 5 with a homer for Pace.

Pace is ranked fourth and NJIT eighth in the most recent Division II Northeast regional writers poll.
