CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ANDY CHUNN, CALDWELL (So, SS, 5-11, 190, Lewes, Del.) Went 8 for 12 with six runs scored and eight runs batted in in four games of the Cougars? 4-1 week. Had a .765 on-base percentage. Had three multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games.

CACC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MIKE KOLESAR, CALDWELL (Sr, R, 6-1, 183, New City, N.Y.) Allowed one run on five hits in a nine-inning complete-game victory over first-place NJIT on Thursday in his only action of the week. Struck out 13 batters and walked three.

HONOR ROLL

BRET URBAN, WILMINGTON (Jr, P, 5-10, 165, New Castle, Del.) Struck out 16 batters in a nine-inning complete game victory over Nyack. Allowed three earned runs on eight hits and walked two.

BRYAN FITZGERALD, WILMINGTON (Sr, OF, 6-0, 180, Newark, Del.) Went 8 for 16 and slugged 1.000 in a 2-2 week for the Wildcats. Had five extra-base hits, including a homer, five runs and five RBI.

JEFF HANCOCK, POST (Fr, P, 6-2, 175, Montville, Conn.) Earned his first career victory with a seven-inning complete game against Nyack. Allowed one earned run on seven hits, struck out eight and walked one.

MIKE ZANI, DOMINICAN (Jr, IF/OF, 6-0, 175, Goshen, N.Y.) Leadoff man hit .389 with seven runs scored and four stolen bases in a 4-2 week for the Chargers.

NOTES

CC: Sophomore SS Andy Chunn raised his batting average 52 points to .349 by going 8 for 12 in four games last week. In two starts versus first-place NJIT this season, senior P Mike Kolesar has given up one run on seven hits with 24 strikeouts in 16 innings.

NJIT: NJIT?s regular-season conference crown is its first, and just the school?s second in any sport, since reclassifying to Division II eight years ago. Chris Legiadre had a 15-decision conference winning streak ended by Dominican on Saturday. Freshman 3B Mike Turner is hitting .548 (17 for 31) with runners in scoring position.

POST: All four of Post?s victories this season came in road games.
