Adelphi Sets Back Dominican, 8-4

Blauvelt, NY -- Adelphi University scored eight runs on 16 hits en route to a 8-4 victory over Dominican College this afternoon in Orangeburg, NY.

Adelphi scored two runs in the first and added one in the fourth to go up 3-2. The team had back to back scoring innings in the seventh and eighth to extend their lead to 8-4.

Dominican battled back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game at 2-2 in the second inning when freshman Sean Brown (Massapequa, NY) hit an RBI single, scoring Pete Gilardo (Cornwall, NY) who reached on an error.

In the bottom of the eighth, trailing 8-3, Dominican got a lead-off walk by Eliezer Nunez (Brooklyn, NY). He scored on the RBI groundout by Gilardo. However, that is as close as they Chargers would get as the game would end with Adelphi up 8-4.

Brown went 2-3 on the day with an RBI and a run scored.
