Wilmington Baseball Takes Two from NyackApril 4, 2005Courtesy of Erin T. Harvey Wilmington Sports Information</i> New Castle, DE - The Wildcats of Wilmington College swept the Warriors of Nyack College in CACC baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Wilson Field. Wilmington won the opening game 13-4 behind solid pitching from Mark DiMaio. DiMaio went the distance, giving up seven hits, four runs, and struck out two. Pete Henyan and Garry Wright supplied much of the offense, as Henyan went 3-4 with two runs scored and three RBI's and Wright went 3-4 with three runs scored, a double, homerun, and three RBI's. Bryan Fitzgerald added a solo homerun and finished the game 2-4 while, Steve Spiese went 1-4 with two RBI's. Chris Brooks scored three runs for the 'Cats. The Wildcats continued to roll in the second game, defeating the Warriors by a score of 9-1. Pete Henyan improved to 6-0 on the season as he went five innings and gave up only four hits and no runs. Henyan struck out eleven Warriors. Bryan Fitzgerald went 3-3 with two runs scored and three RBI's, while Garry Wright wnt 2-4 with three RBI's. Joe Class went 2-3 with two runs scored and two RBI's and Rich Ware added a double and crossed the plate three times for the 'Cats. With the wins, Wilmington improved to 11-6 in the CACC and 16-19-1 overall. |
