Dominican Baseball Selected to Host ECAC Championship

CAPE COD, Mass -- After finishing the regular season with a 24-15 overall record, Dominican College, was selected as the No. 1 seed in the 2005 ECAC Division II Baseball Championship. The tournament, a two-team double-elimination championship, will take place Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 if necessary.

Earning the number two seed in the championship is New Jersey Institute of Technology. NJIT finished the season with a 22-18 overall record. The Friday championship will feature both teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

A double header will be played on Friday, May 20 with games beginning at 11 a.m. Dominican will serve as the host institution and the game will take place on DC?s home field, Veteran?s Memorial Park in Orangeburg, N.Y. Game two will take place immediately after Game one with the necessary warm up time allotted to the two teams. If necessary, the third game of the series will take place on Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m., again hosted by Dominican, but taking place at Rockland Community College.

2005 ECAC Division II Baseball Championship Schedule

Two Games will be played Friday, May 20 beginning at 11 a.m. @ Veteran?s Memorial Park in Orangeburg, N.Y.

If necessary, a third game will be played Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. @ Rockland Community College
