NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 14, 2012) – The Bloomfield College Athletic Communications office has been honored as the recipient of the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference’s (CACC) Division II Identity Award, which recognizes the conference institution that best supports the NCAA Division II platform through the college's publications and website.
Bloomfield was honored for a number of its 2011-12 athletic
department publications, including men’s soccer,
women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s basketball,
women’s basketball and baseball.
Members of the Bloomfield Athletic Communications Office include,
Director of Athletic Communications Andrew Mees and Assistant
Director of Athletic Communications, Gladstone Harris.
The award is presented annually to the CACC school that best
utilizes Division II materials on their website, game day programs,
media guides and other publications and printed materials. The
award is voted upon by the CACC Conference Office.
The award will also take into consideration the
institution’s ability to integrate the philosophy of the CACC
into its publications. The CACC values are learning, spirit,
character, community, fair play and balance.
“The CACC is a proud member of NCAA Division II and is
honored to display the logos and slogans of the division on the
conference web site, multiple publications and news
releases,” CACC Commissioner Dan Mara said.
“The 14 member colleges of the conference have been
leaders in utilizing the vast array of material available to them
through the NCAA. It is only fitting that the conference bestow an
award recognizing the best of the best at merging the institution
with the message of Division II."
