THREE CACC TEAMS RANKED IN NCAA REGIONAL POLLSNEW HAVEN, CT - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its initial women's soccer and volleyball Regional Rankings today, and three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) teams were included. In women's soccer, Wilmington University stands sixth and Philadelphia University is ninth, while Georgian Court University volleyball is ranked sixth. Wilmington, which leads Division II with 4.64 goals per game, is ranked sixth in the New England Region Women's Soccer Poll. This is the highest Wilmington has ever been ranked in the region. The Wildcats are 11-3 overall this season and 5-2 in conference play. The squad is led by senior forward Begum Malali, who is ranked third in the country in both points per-game (3.29) and goals per-game (1.43). Philadelphia is tied for ninth in the New England Region and is currently 8-4 overall and 6-0 in the CACC after winning five of its last six games. The Lady Rams, the defending CACC Tournament Champions, have not allowed a goal in conference play and have outscored their opponents 20-0 through six matches. For Georgian Court, this marks the first time they have been ranked in the Northeast Region for volleyball. The Lions are 16-4 overall this season and own the best record in the CACC at 10-0. GCU has earned victories this season against two other teams in the poll, over No. 4 New Haven and No. 7 Adelphi. The Lions, the 2006 CACC Tournament Champions, will play some of the top teams in the region this week when they travel to East Stroudsburg University to face the region's top team, Dowling College, along with UMass-Lowell and No. 5 C.W.
