The Lightning finished the afternoon with a team score of 318, which was 30 strokes better than second-place Wilmington College (348) while Neumann College finished 19 strokes behind the Wildcats in third place (367).

Goldey-Beacom posted five of the top six golfers on the afternoon. Sophomore Steve Cutler (Kennett Square, PA) finished in second place with a score of 80, followed by senior Michael Clair (Landenberg, PA) in third place at 81, junior Nick Nardo (Newark, DE) in fifth place at 84 and senior Chris Ciupinski (Ocean Township, NJ) in sixth place at 86.

At the GBC Spring Invitational, Tobiason finished at -2 (70) to take second place while Nardo finished in fifth place a +5 (77). Cutler was next in 11th place at +8 (80), followed by Agnew (T-18th place) at +11 (83) and Ciupinski (T-24th place) at +13 (85).

Softball: The Goldey-Beacom College softball team (2-8) dropped a pair of doubleheaders last week, falling to Kutztown University 11-0 and 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon before losing to Bloomsburg University 3-1 and 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at the GBC Softball Complex.

Senior Holly Kimble (Millsboro, DE) and sophomore Sarah Gehman (Wilmington, DE) each drove in a run for the Lightning in the second game against Kutztown. Senior Tiffany Frick (Pennsauken, NJ) suffered the loss for the Lightning in game one, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) in seven innings of work. Freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) took the loss in game two, allowing four runs (two earned) while striking out five in eight innings of work.

On Saturday afternoon, Game one remained scoreless until the top of the fourth when Tara Emery singled home Alyson Taylor to give Bloomfield a 1-0 lead. Bloomfield stretched the lead to 3-0 the following inning on an RBI triple by Kelly Zarski and an RBI single from Sara Roba. The Lightning struck back for a run in the bottom of the seventh when senior Holly Kimble (Millsboro, DE) led off the inning with a triple and scored on a wild pitch but could get no closer.

Senior Tiffany Frick (Pennsauken, NJ) suffered the loss for the Lightning, allowing nine hits and three runs (two earned).

In game two, Bloomfield picked the only runs it would need in the top of the fourth when Emery drove in Wolfe and Tiff Corliss doubled home Emery to build a 2-0 lead. The lone Lightning run came in the bottom of the sixth when Frick singled home freshman Jillian Murphy (Wilmington, DE).

Freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) took the loss, allowing nine hits and four earned runs while striking out seven.
