Goldey-Beacom Golf to Host GBC Fall Invitational

WILMINGTON, DE ? Goldey-Beacom Head Golf Coach Jim Mahoney announced this week that the first annual GBC Fall Invitational with take place on October 17 and 18 at Haterfeld National Golf Course.

Joining the Lightning in the 36-hole tournament will be Eastern University, Adelphi University, Dominican College, Holy Family University, Philadelphia University, Wilmington College and the University of Delaware.

?We are extremely excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to a great tournament,? said Mahoney, who is entering his fourth season at the helm of the Lightning golf program. ?We have a quality field that includes the University of Delaware as well as Adelphi University, who qualified for the NCAA Division II Regional last season.?

Last season, Goldey-Beacom captured its first-ever Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship for the first time in school history.

Goldey-Beacom is currently ranked eighth in the region and enters this Tuesday?s match against Holy Family following a ninth place finish at the ECAC Championship.
