CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College sophomore catcher Alyssa Calderon (Fontana, CA/Etiwanda) was selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II All-American second team, the organization announced today. She becomes the seventh Cougar softball player to receive All-American honors in the history of the program.

Griffins Serve Up Spring Support For Lily’s Loop and Carson’s Valley Children’s Aid

Taking a break from spring studies and supporting their fellow student-athletes, On Saturday, April 13, members of the Chestnut Hill College women’s volleyball team, women’s soccer, and women’s basketball team joined several other Griffins for a charitable walk around “Lily’s Loop”. The one-mile walk around campus raises awareness for per-term birth and funds for the March of Dimes. In addition to their support for Lily’s Loop, the women’s volleyball team also instructed several youth from the Carson Valley Children’s Aid on the volleyball basics and the benefit of team sports.

INDIANOPOLIS, Ind. - - After claiming the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon, the Wilmington University baseball team learned its destination of the upcoming NCAA Division II East Region Tournament on Sunday night, and the team returns to a familiar place. For the first time in program history, the Wildcats earned the No. 1 seed for the regional tournament after claiming their third straight CACC Tournament Championship. Wilmington heads into the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament with a 40-12 overall record. As the top seed, the Wildcats play No. 6 Franklin Pierce, a team the Wildcats played four times at the beginning of the season. The Wildcats won all four meetings, 10-8, 5-4, 6-5, and 2-0, all at neutral sites. Another team the Wildcats played early in the season, St. Thomas Aquinas, earned the No. 2 seed for the tournament while the University of New Haven was slotted at the three seed. STAC captured the East Coast Conference's automatic bid and New Haven the Northeast 10 Championship by winning the conference tournaments this weekend. Hosting for the second year in a row and earning the tournament's No. 4 seed is Southern New Hampshire, also a team the Wildcats played during the 2013 campaign. Fellow NE-10 member Pace University earns the No. 5 seed with Franklin Pierce rounding out the tournament as the No. 6 seed. The six-team, double-elimination East Regional will get underway Thursday at Penmen Field in Manchester, N.H. The winner will advance to the 2013 Division II College World Series in Cary, N.C.
