CACC SPOTLIGHTS RICH LEE, FELICIAN ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

Name: Richard Lee

School: Felician College

Where did you graduate from and when? New Jersey City University - February, 1982 & Rutgers University, Newark January, 1984.

Why did you choose to work at Felician?

In 2005, a position was available with the Felician men's basketball program and I applied because I thought it would be a good opportunity.

What other jobs have you held before this current position?

How far back do you want to go?  My coaching career began in 1973 as player/coach of the Clark Diplomats, Luzon, Philippines (73-77). While in the Philippines I played for Yanmar Diesel in the Philippine Basketball League (1974-77).  I've coached high school basketball and football, men and women college basketball, and men's international and professional basketball in Australia.

My non-athletic career includes everything from insurance junior underwriter, retail, teaching, postal service to my current position as a service officer with a non-profit organization in New York City.

What was your favorite aspect of working in Australia for two years?

It was a complete education.  Every day I learned something new about basketball, coaching, professional athletes and myself.  The experience provided a chance to conduct clinics for the local youth development program as a representative of the team (Cairns Taipans, NBL)
